Quick summary: Type 41 flat cut-off wheel for aluminium, SG line (★★★☆), 105 x 1.0 x 16 mm (4 x .040 x 5/8 inch). Maximum speed 14,500 r/min, oSa certified, compliant with EN 12413.
1. General information
- The PFERD EHT 105-1,0 SG ALU cut-off wheel is designed for cutting aluminium and aluminium alloys on 100 mm angle grinders. The label states ALU.
- The SG line is rated ★★★☆ on PFERD's 4-star scale, above the PSF line (★★☆☆).
- At 1.0 mm thick with fibreglass reinforcement, it gives a narrow kerf and fast cutting, suited to aluminium sheet, profiles and tubes.
- The wheel carries the oSa mark of the Organisation for the Safety of Abrasives (osa-abrasives.org), complies with the European standard EN 12413, with USA ANSI B7.1 / OSHA regulations and with Australian standard AS 1788.1.
2. Benefits
2.1 Benefits for the plant
- The right wheel for aluminium. The label states ALU. Using a dedicated aluminium cut-off wheel instead of a steel wheel helps reduce aluminium loading on the wheel and keeps cutting speed consistent.
- Separate wheels for aluminium and steel. A dedicated aluminium item helps the store issue the right wheel and avoids using steel cut-off wheels on aluminium.
- Calculate cost per job, not per wheel. DAVITA recommends a trial run that compares the number of cuts per wheel on the same material. This is the most accurate way to measure real cost.
- Clear safety documentation. The oSa mark and the EN 12413 and ANSI B7.1 markings printed on the wheel give the HSE department a basis to approve the consumable and help meet customer or project owner requirements during plant audits.
- Complete documents. Each delivery comes with an invoice, certificate of origin (CO), certificate of quality (CQ) and user manual. These meet the requirements of project files, audits and purchasing procedures.
- Reliable supply from an authorised distributor. DAVITA restocks regularly and delivers fast, so the plant can keep its consumables inventory low.
2.2 Benefits for operators
- Fast, clean cuts. The 1.0 mm wheel gives a narrow kerf with minimal burr on aluminium sheet and profiles.
- High-performance line. PFERD rates the SG line above the PSF line, making it suitable when operators cut a lot of aluminium every day.
- Peace of mind at work. The wheel meets EN 12413 safety requirements and carries the oSa mark. Combined with a wheel guard and proper personal protective equipment, operators work more safely.
- Compact, fits common 100 mm angle grinders. The 16 mm bore fits the 100 mm angle grinders widely used in workshops; small, light machines that are easy to handle in tight spots.

5. Typical applications and usage notes
5.1 Applications
- Cutting aluminium sheet, profiles and tubes.
- Cutting aluminium parts in metal workshops, aluminium door and structure fabrication.
- Cutting aluminium bars and tubes during installation and plant maintenance.
5.2 Usage notes
- Use only on machines rated no higher than 14,500 r/min.
- Never mount the wheel on a machine whose speed exceeds the maximum speed on the label.
- Always use the machine's wheel guard. Wear eye or face protection, a dust mask, ear protection and gloves, as shown by the pictograms on the label.
- Do not use the cut-off wheel for grinding and do not apply side pressure. Cut straight, without tilting the wheel in the cut.
- Use this wheel for aluminium only; for steel and stainless steel use STEELOX cut-off wheels.
- Before mounting, check that the wheel is free of cracks and chips, and is not damp or oily. Run it without load for about 30 seconds.
- Store in a dry place. Use the wheel before the expiry date stamped on the metal ring at the bore (EXP marking).
